It#39;s the fastest-paced song on the album but includes a couple of much slower sections as well. br / br / When I first laid out the track list this one was originally called quot;The Last of My Angelsquot;, but I felt it was too similar to quot;Angel Eyequot;, and that quot;Carry the Ringsquot; was a much better title (and a greater hint to what the song was actually about). I think that it has a bit of a jazzier sound than some other things I#39;ve released recently. The solo is also a little unusual, with a couple of key and time changes in the middle, and during the vocal section in the middle I had a go at trying to sound like Heavenly, who I mentioned in the commentary for the previous song - I love the sort of Amstrad-like synth that they sometimes use in their music./p

In a fictional world we have the opportunity to be anything we want, with no limits - but many Mary Sue-type characters take on so many features taken from popular fandoms (Final Fantasy being the one springing to mind here) that they all become the same again. In describing some of the cliches that these characters have I had to teeter over the edge of ridiculousness in the lyrics - I can only hope I found a good place :) br / br / The sound of it ended up as something quite close to early Sonat.../p

The intro had been finished for months, but it took a long time to come up with most of the other sections.
