Bugs

Bugs I discovered so far:
- One crash when entering GRC. I just came out of it, went back, selected the second goal ( ??? at that point ) and it crashed. When I restarted the game the goal was displayed normally ( no ??? ). Maybe related to me ALT-TABbing out of the game before.
- It is possible to stand the the left of the bean stalk boss when it comes up at the left edge of the screen. Could be intentional, though.
- If I restart a level from the menu the timing seems to be a bit off: Enemies do not start in the same position they do normally ( happened to me in MFB )

Aside from that the game seem to be really bug free. :P

Every now and then, when opening/closing menus, one of the directions gets "stuck". I think it might be from me holding a direction as I exit a menu - to alleviate it, I just mash the direction and the other direction (so if I'm going right, I press left and right at the same time) and it fixes itself.

In GRB (I think), at the end of the level all of a sudden the camera got stuck pointing upwards, my jumping would occasionally freeze in midair, and then I could fly upwards as I wished. It was really odd, and I restarted the level and had the same problems, till I restarted the whole game. It never happened again.

I crash maybe 1% of the time when entering or exiting a level. Not a big deal, since the game always autosaves successfully, but a bit annoying.

Things seem to get screwed up when I alt-tab a lot between the game (windowed) and another program. The "stuck direction" problem seagaia mentioned, randomly dying (or spontaneously being teleported back to the respawn point when in Music Castle), and being stuck in a wall and continually floating upwards. (That last one actually helped me beat a level once- I just floated up to the gem and then Phased out of the wall!)

I just fell through a wall in GRB. It was a one in a million thing that I've been completely unable to replicate, so I'm just going to assume it requires even stricter timing and acrobatics to do on purpose than the Minus World glitch in the original Super Mario Bros., and the fact that I did it completely by accident is just one of those things. Still, it'd be nice if anyone could look into this, if only to prove that this can actually happen and I didn't just hallucinate the whole thing.

It happens relatively early on--right around the territory of the very first shadowy thing that appears and hits you if you don't keep moving, where the wall on the right is solid but has one of those moving extruding/retracting blocks, and you're supposed to jump on it and then to the left. Something about... I don't even know what happened, maybe it was a weird combination of being hit by the shadow while trying to jump for it and weird timing with the position of the block, or maybe it was just an MMF frameskip issue (which has never happened to me before, not even in I Wanna Be the Guy, which is supposedly so notorious for that that its download comes in two alternate frameskip/slowdown versions depending on which one works better on your computer,) but for whatever reason, when I tried to jump and press against the wall directly above that block (hoping the block would extrude and I would land on it,) I just went right through. I kept walking forward until around the area of those giant square wooden blocks behind the wall, at which point I could no longer move in either direction but I started slowly ascending upward, like I had found a secret elevator. This lasted until roughly the first free open area above that wall, and once I was back in the boundaries like I was actually supposed to be, all behavior instantly returned to normal.

I tried going back and doing it again but of course now I can't. :(

One thing I've found is NEVER use that phase/teleport spell (Can't remember the actual name right now) when you're on a thin ground, like those bridges from Azure Cliffs. You'll fall right through them.

Any other bug I've encountered seems to have been related to some sort of moving platform, so I think those are where most of the problems might also lie. Mostly things like collision errors and such.

I should finally reply to this thread to acknowledge that I've read them - thanks for finding those! I was really impressed with the job my testers did and how any crippling issues in general seemed to have been flattened, but I'll keep these on the list for any future updates.

Bugs... remember I had about 112% in the demo? xD

I'll buy the game shortly, let's see what I can do.

Yes, in the full game I defended against people like you zooming off the level and collecting things that weren't even on the screen ;)

Hi I'm new here (although not to the game). I found one more bug, this time with Wraith enemies in Grassland Ruins B: Sometimes, after killing them, the camera, jumping and collision detection will mess up really badly.

The first time I ran into that glitch (against the 4th wraith), if I moved while jumping, I kept moving up until I stopped moving left/right, and I could walk over pits/holes. While moonjumping the camera would stop moving so the character went out of the screen.

The second time this happened (against the first one), I got stuck into the right wall and ended up slowly moving up until I got out of it. Afterward, the game went fine again.

As for the crashes they mainly occur after I enter levels about 50-60 times. Memory leak in the code?

Also that is an awesome game. Nowadays I rarely game anymore and this is a rare game where I don't stop playing.
